Our Services

Keys to Recovery offers a multitude of services to assist clients in maintaining their housing and regaining their independence, free from addictions. There is no maximum length of stay. All services are offered in the clients’ homes.


  • Guidance in the client’s recovery from addictions (12 steps, SMART Recovery, etc.)
  • Relapse prevention strategies
  • Addiction group
  • Education about the effects of drug and alcohol abuse and the process of recovery from addictions.


  • Single or double occupancy subsidized apartments (monthly rent is the Alberta Works shelter allowance or 30% of income)
  • Move in support
  • Basic household items
  • Advocacy with landlords
  • Assistance with conflict resolution
  • Education regarding the Residential Tenancy Act

Aboriginal (available to everyone)

  • Monthly sweats
  • Monthly healing circle
  • Access to Elders
  • Smudging of client’s new apartment
  • Assistance with Indian Affairs or Band matters


  • Advocacy with legal matters (police, probation, parole, court, corrections, etc.)
  • Assistance dealing with old warrants, fines, and tickets
  • Support in court


  • Interview skills
  • Resume writing
  • Providing job and volunteer opportunities
  • Career planning

Mental Health

  • Advocacy within the health system (doctors, hospitals, etc.)
  • Strategies for reducing symptoms
  • Support at appointments (AISH, doctors, etc.)
  • Psychiatric support

Case Management

  • Referrals for services within the community
  • Goal planning
  • Advocacy and assistance with financial matters (AB Works, AISH, Money Management, etc.)
  • Assistance with navigating the various systems (legal, health, financial, etc.)
  • Assistance with obtaining an ID, work boots/clothes, and other work-related items.
